Keep in mind that these are just ideas, and you're welcome to pursue other topics. Also remember that there's A LOT of information out there; this is just the tip of the iceberg. Hope this helps you find some good material for your movies. One of the best places to look for ideas and information is at the Heinz History Center in the Strip District. Take a trip through their Pittsburgh: A History of Innovation exhibit to brainstorm for your film!
