The People Speak Live: Student Edition
Students from Westinghouse, CAPA, Environmental Charter School, and Highland got together on April 24, 2013 to perform original pieces of art, digital media, song and dance. Students were inspired by the works of historian Howard Zinn and the film, The People Speak and expressed their views on how they fit into the world and what they can do to change it. Joining them on stage were Sally Wiggin (WTAE), Chris Moore (WQED, WPXI), Lynn Cullen (Lynn Cullen Live), and CAPA's Kate Daher.
Pittsburgh's Teen Oscar Party
Students celebrated the Oscars Pittsburgh-style at Steeltown's Take A Shot Event on Sunday, February 24, 2013. Pittsburgh's Teen Oscar Party was held at the Heinz History Center, with pizza, trivia, and prizes, as well as a free filmmaking workshop.

Take a Shot Film Festival
On May 20, 2012, the young filmmakers joined Steeltown at the the Heinz History Center for a film festival that featured all of their films and celebrated their hard work. Winners were announced and over $10,000 in prizes were awarded.
Interactive Global Polio Conference:
On April 12, 2012, at the University of Pittsburgh, hundreds of students from the Pittsburgh region had the chance to connect via videoconference with students in India and Pakistan, and hear from world leaders in polio eradication. Missed it? Click here to watch the whole video conference!

Pittsburgh Once Again Makes Polio Headlines
On April 3rd, students, educators, community members, and special guest, Dr. Peter Salk gathered at the University of Pittsburgh's Salk Hall to celebrate the conclusion of the "Take A Shot" contest.
