The way we learn is changing. Millions of facts are available at the click of a mouse. You can learn anything in an instant. This can be invigorating, exciting, and liberating. It can also be overwhelming. How do we teach kids to extract meaning and value from this constant sea of information? How do we teach them to tell stories?
In a truly collaborative effort, Steeltown Entertainment Project is working with The Jefferson Awards, The Heinz History Center, Allegheny Intermediate Unit, and YERT: Your Environmental Road Trip to develop an innovative program that combines the power of digital media with social action. Our aim is to:
- Inspire students to realize what they are capable of in the future by examining important moments in the past.
- Teach kids that a camera, an idea, and a voice is a meaningful and viable way to advocate for change.
